That included 24,228 all ages programming participants as well as and 5,642 youth and family program participants. 
21,841 viewers watched this year’s artist talks and panel discussions online.  7,879 people participated programs in person.

­­87 volunteers contributed more than 2,386 hours to museum activities.

905 individuals, businesses, and other sources have supported the museum through memberships and other generous donations.

8 works of art were added to the Permanent Collection bringing the total to 1,518

Kemper Museum earned media coverage in 98 news stories in 2023.

Financial Highlights

The museum benefitted from increases in attendance and on-site activities versus prior year, all of which contributed to improvements to operations. Budgetary goals for 2023 were met due to:

  • 905 donors responded generously to opportunities for contributions, a 65% increase over the number in 2022

  • Strong earned revenue from the Museum Shop and Special Events

  • Controlled and measured spending
